Sprained Ankle
Sprained ankles are one of the most common injuries around. Whether it’s from running, jumping or even walking, a sprained ankle can cause serious and often debilitating pain. Sprained ankles occur when one twists or turns the ankle too harshly, causing a stretch and sometimes a tear of the ligaments surrounding the joint. Treatment typically involves rest, icing, and anti-inflammatory medication.
However, if the pain persists or is severe enough to limit activity, consulting with your doctor or physical therapist may be necessary to develop an appropriate rehabilitation plan. Spraining an ankle can be a setback but if properly treated it should get you back up on your feet in no time at all.
